My Background
I’ve spent the last decade performing, writing, and teaching music—creative expression has always been at the core of what I do. But the road here was anything but straight.
I used to be terrified of performing. Singing was something I kept to myself for years.
Technically, piano was my first instrument—as a kid, I taught myself how to read music (thanks, YouTube) and spent hours figuring things out by ear. Music was always a big part of my life, but it wasn’t something I imagined turning into a career.
So, pursuing music professionally wasn’t really on my radar. But when a high school counselor suggested I study voice in college, something clicked. For the first time, I felt the pull to follow a part of me I’d been quietly protecting.
That moment led me to the University of Michigan, where I earned a degree in Vocal Performance—something I never thought I’d do. And somehow, years later, I’ve ended up performing hundreds of shows, releasing original music, and helping countless students find their own voice and move through the same fears I once carried.
After graduating, I wasn’t sure how to turn my passion into something real. I told myself I’d never be a teacher—but when a friend encouraged me to apply to the School of Rock for a vocal coach position, I said yes. What I thought would be a temporary side gig turned into something that’s stayed with me for over a decade. I fell in love with guiding others through their creative process—and in doing so, reconnected more deeply with my own.
In 2018, I moved across the country to Arizona and immediately dove into the local music scene—forming a band, playing shows, releasing songs, and teaching voice and piano at a mom-and-pop music shop. But after years of constant output, I hit a wall. I was burnt out. I didn’t just want to keep playing gigs week in and week out—I wanted alignment, purpose, and space to support others in a more intentional way.
That burnout became a turning point.
In 2023, I went back to school and earned my MBA in Marketing. I was tired of telling myself I was “bad at business” and done waiting for someone else to come run my creative career for me. That decision gave me exactly what I needed—confidence, clarity, and the skills to run my business in a more intentional and strategic way. It helped me bridge the gap between intuition and structure—and showed me that sustainable growth doesn’t mean selling out. It means leading with vision, heart, and a plan that fits.
